Use a spreadsheet such as Excel to solve the problem of working out the costs.
Copy the details in the table into Excel.
Complete the spreadsheet using the functions/formulae below:
- Total items sold - Total the number of items sold each day. Copy the values across using the Autofill handle.
- Total sold - Total the number of individual items sold during the week.
- Total sales - Total sold x Sale price. Copy the values across for all items using the Autofill handle.
- Total costs - Total sold x Cost price. Copy the values across for all items using the Autofill handle
- Weekly profit - Total sales - (minus) Total costs. Copy the values across for all items using the Autofill handle
Format the amounts of money to display two decimals.
Format the currency to Rand.
Insert the Pinelands High School badge from a web page, onto the spreadsheet.
Draw a pie graph/chart.
- Show the Total sold during the week so that the best sellers are easily shown.
- Label clearly.
- Indicate the percentages.
Centre the heading Pinelands High School tuck shop (2 April - 6 April) across the top of the spreadsheet
Bold the names of the products.
In File / Properties add your name as the author.
As a footer add the file name left, Prepared by ... and the date centre. (Add as a mixture of normal and custom footers.)
Print the spreadsheet and graph/chart on ONE page.
