The children in the hospital school are taken regularly to the Antonia and Natale Children's Library to choose books to read while in hospital.  The library has received many interesting books from individuals and publishing companies.  One of the children's favourite authors is Niki Daly.  He visits the hospital school as often as he can and has donated many books to the library.  This year Niki Daly was invited to celebrate World Book Day with the children.  A representative from Exclusive Books was also invited as Niki Daly had arranged with the bookshop that  two boxes of books would be donated to the hospital school.

A group of children welcomed Niki Daly and Gabi from Exclusive Books.  The special guests were treated to a story read by the children. Niki then announced that he had brought an extra special gift.  He had completed a new book titled Where's Jamela? and brought  a copy of this book.  Inside was a dedication that reads For the brave children of the Red Cross Hospital School, Cape Town.  Niki then read the book to delighted children and staff.  Afterwards all the children received a book as a present  and balloons and enjoyed refreshments.

Thank you, Niki Daly - you are our No.1 champion!
