The Hospital Trust commissioned the artist Lovell Friedman to put up a statue called Mother Courage in front of the new buildings. The children were very excited when Lovell asked them to help her make special tiles to use on the skirt of Mother Courage.

Clay was brought to the classroom and the children had a wonderful time rolling it out and cutting out shapes and painting them. The statue is completed and the children are very proud to point out their special tiles.
