As part of the Mastercard Gourmet Food Festival held in May 2001, some international chefs visited the Red Cross Children's Hospital. They were given the task to cook a breakfast with the children. Silwood Kitchen sponsored the food and equipment. The children were helped to make their own flapjacks with different toppings and also fruit kebabs.
The children made two wallhangings and painted pictures of the chefs. These artworks were used to decorate the hall in which the breakfast was held. Later, some of these portraits of the chefs were auctioned to raise funds for the hospital.
