Internet in South Africa - PowerPoint as a web
site
- In the past you made 'normal' PowerPoint presentations which ran IF you had PowerPoint
to view it. You can show PowerPoint presentations using Internet Explorer or Netscape
Navigator. In this task you will make one 'normal' presentation and Save As HTM or HTML so
that it can be shown in Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
- With a partner create an exciting PowerPoint presentation on the Internet in
South Africa. It needs information about South African search engines, ISPs, costs,
bandwidth, portals, communication channels, and the new developments of satellite
transmission from InfoSat.
- The presentation should be 6-10 slides.
- Needed are meaningful animations created with PaintShopPro Animation Shop (demo version
found in the Resources folder on the disk), saved as gifs and inserted into PowerPoint as
images. Do not add sound nor use transitions or video clips.
- Be prepared to stand up and give your presentation to the class.
- You will find information about this topic on the Internet, in magazines and newspapers.
- Save (Save As) the presentation as HTM or HTML for online viewing.
- Both presentations must be handed in on well labelled disks. No work on disk, no mark.
Poorly labelled disk, marks deducted.
- Online learners must submit it to school to your teacher as a zipped
email attachment. Online learners phone your teacher two days after submission to
discuss the task - no phone call and discussion, no mark.
