Printers - Word document
- Using a word processing application create a small booklet using the Word
processing evaluation rubric as a guideline, on Dot matrix, Laser and Ink jet
Printers.
- The document must be five to ten pages.
- The document must contain text, graphics, a table, a header, a footer with
fields for your name, file name and number of words, an
automatically created table of contents and index. The major focus for
marks is on the image(s), table(s), header, footer, page margins, line spacing,
table of contents, index and spelling as indicated in the rubric.
- The article must contain information under suitable headings on how it works;
consumerables such cartridges, inks and ribbons; CMYK; speed of printing or ppm (pages per
minute); resolution; use in the market; paper used; costs and portable printers for
notebook PC.
- Instructions on how to create List of contents and Index:
- Type up all your information before you do the List of contents and Index.
- For every heading use the Style box on the formatting toolbar. Make each heading a
Heading 1, 2 or 3. (It will change the style from that required in Computer Studies SG
which is found in Word Processing evaluation rubric. To modify the
style to the requirements of Computer Studies SG, go to Styles / Changing in the Help
menu.)
- When you have organised the headings you are ready for the next step.
- Title page - Create a neat, concise title page on the subject, with all your details.
Insert two page breaks with line spaces in between.
- Table of contents - Between the page breaks insert a Table of contents. It will use all
the headings you used from the style menu.
- Index - At the end of the body text, insert a page break. After the page break insert
your Index. Index at least 20 important words. Experiment how to do it.
- Onsite learners print the work and submit. Online learners email the work to
school as an attachment or fax it to school. Phone your teacher two days after submitting
the work to discuss the recent task.
- Consult the rubric for assessment criteria.
