Creating a custom menu

Add commands to a menu

It is so easy to create a menu and to customise it to your needs.  In the illustration below the commands Create graph and Format marks are macros to easily perform repeated tasks.  Close is a usual Windows command added to the menu.

To create the new menu

Right-click the toolbar and choose Customize.

Choose the Commands tab and from the Categories list select New Menu.

From the Commands list box drag the New Menu on to the toolbar and right-click it.

Rename the menu as required.

To add a new command for a macro to the menu

In the Categories list, click the category for the command, Macros.  Select Custom Menu Item from the Command tab.

With the mouse drag the Custom Menu Item up and hold over Guide on the menu bar.  The I-beam appears on the square below the menu.  Release the mouse.

Choose Assign Macro and, from the Assign Macro dialog box select the macro for example, Graph and click OK.

To rename the menu item right click on the menu item.  In the name block rename the item.

To add a command to a menu bar

On the Tools menu, click Customize, and then click the Commands tab.

Drag the command you want from the Commands list over the menu you want to add it to. When the menu displays a list of commands, point to where you want the command to appear, and then release the mouse button.
