Rename the folder YourSurnameFirstnameVideos. All the files necessary for the exam will be in this folder. Save all your work in this folder. Only do what is required and nothing more. Save your work on a regular basis.  All files available zipped.

Question 1 - Access - 21 marks

Rename the file 0512Videos  YourSurnameVideos Answer the questions based on the database YourSurnameVideos. Where able write the answers on this sheet. Number queries and reports clearly. 

The database has four tables. 

  1. General Movies table 
    1. Table 
      1. Do something so that when you add a new record, you can quickly add the Genre details. (1) 
    2. Queries 
      1. How many R rated movies are in the table? (1) ...... 
      2. How many movies have the letters 'man' anywhere in the title? (1) ...... 
      3. How many PG-13 Dramas are there? (1) ...... 
      4. Which performer has the most PG-13 movies? (1) ...... 
      5. How many movies with each rating are there? (1) 
      6. Show the number of movies made by each performer. (1) 
      7. List the movies with all their details from a year that may change. (1) 
      8. List the movies that are duplicated in the table. (1) 
      9. List the movies and all their details with the age of the film. (1) 
    3. Reports 
      1. List all the movies grouped by year. (1) 
      2. List all the movies alphabetically grouped by the performer. (1) 
      3. List all the movies grouped and totalled by rating. (1) 
  2. Movies with Details table 
    1. Query or Report 
      1. What is the average length of the movies in the table? (2) ...... 
    2. Report 
      1. List the movies with all the fields fitting across a page in landscape layout. All details must show. (2) 
  3. Stars table

      1. Do something to the Stars table so that in a field the first names are joined to the surnames, with a space in between. (2) 
  4. Stock and General Movies tables 
    1. Query 
      1. Using the Stock and the General Movies tables list the movies that are not in stock. (2) 

Question 2 - Word - 25 marks

Open the document Biographies and save it as YourSurnameBiographies

  1. Insert page numbers on all pages except page 1. (1) 
  2. Insert a header from page 2 with the words 'Movie stars'. (1) 
  3. Put a border just at the bottom of the paragraph box. (1)
  4. Insert a footer on all the pages, with the fields of the author's name (yourself), file name and number of words. (1) 
  5. Put a border just at the top of the paragraph box (1) 
  6. Set the page margins to 2 cm top, bottom, left and right. (1) 
  7. Make sure all text starts from the edge of the page (even the bullets you will add later). (1) 
  8. Make all the text in the whole document Arial. Check header, footer and page numbers. (1) 
  9. Insert the picture of Sandra Bullock with text wrapped around it, into the article about her. (1) 
  10. Insert the picture of Mel Gibson behind the article on him, as a watermark. (1) 
  11. Make a table of the Salary of Sandra Bullock. 
    1. It needs 3 columns: Title, Year and Income 
    2. Number of rows - You decide - it must be correct 
    3. Column headings - Shaded, Centred (1) 
    4. Columns - Just wide enough (1) 
    5. Salary - Aligned correctly (What that means you should know) (1) 
    6. Insert a merged row at the top of the table with the heading Salary of Sandra Bullock. (1) 
    7. Make all the border lines the colour peachy pink wide. (1) 
  12. Mini Biography of Sandra Bullock 
    1. Shade the paragraph in the colour peachy pink. (1) 
    2. Make the paragraph into 2 columns with a line in between. (1) 
    3. Make a pull quote of a phrase from the paragraph. (1) 
    4. The pull quote must be over the column line but it must not show. (1) 
    5. Give the pull quote a border. (1) 
  13. List of trivia about Sandra Bullock 
    1. Bullet the list with numbers progressing from 01, 02, 03, 04, etc. (1) 
  14. Mini Biography of Mel Gibson 
    1. Give the paragraph a border. (1) 
  15. Headings 
    1. Use the headings already there and make them into Style sheet headings. 
    2. Put a list of contents at the top of page 1 (1) or in a narrow text box at the side of the page. (2) 

Question 3 - Excel - 31 marks

Open the file Movies. Rename the file YourSurnameMovies

  1. Open the sheet Stars [6]
    1. Sort the names so that they are listed alphabetically by surname. (1) 
    2. Pretend that the people whose names are in the spreadsheet attend a school called Movie Stars High School. Using a function create email addresses for all of them. You decide what the domain name should be. (4)
    3. Add your name to the footer so that when it is printed your name identifies the document. (1)
  2. Open the sheet General Movies [6]
    1. Use any method to make the field headings stand out. (1) 
    2. At the bottom of the list of movies use a function to calculate the following.  Write the answer on the sheet as well.
      1. Number of R movies (1) .....
      2. Number of Dramas (1) .....
      3. Year of oldest movie (1) .....
      4. Number of movies with the letters 'man' in the title (1) .....
    3. Freeze the headings so they remain visible at all times. (1) 
  3. On a new sheet in the spreadsheet copy the details of the salary of Sandra Bullock. [10]
    1. You need three fields: Title, Year and Salary. 
    2. Rename the sheet with her details 'Salary of Sandra Bullock'. (1) 
    3. Make sure her salary is in dollars. (1) 
    4. Sort the details by year. (1) 
    5. Use conditional formatting to format the title indicating in colours the salary she earned for the differenmovies: gold for movies earning $15 million or more, blue for movies between $10 and $15 million, and pink for those earning less than $5 million. (2)
    6. Create a graph:
      1. Show just the title and salary of the movies for which she earned more than R10,000,000. (1) 
      2. The range of the graph must be from $10,000,000 upwards. (1) 
      3. The minor units of the graph must be $5,000,000. (1) 
      4. The titles must be aligned so they can be read. (1) 
      5. The range must just show Millions. (1) 
    7. Add a comment somewhere near her salary with the words 'She deserves all of this'. (1) (Bonus mark if the author of the comment is automatically added as your name. (1)
  4. Insert a new sheet called 'Movie Quiz' into the file. [7]
    1. Add the questions 
      1. Select the name of the longest movie from this group? Add a combo box with the names Titanic, Troy, Shrek, Chicago (1) 
      2. From this group which movie has won the most Oscars? Add a combo box with the names Titanic, The Matrix, You've got mail, Saving Private Ryan. (1) 
    2. For both questions Titanic is the correct answer. (2) 
    3. Use functions to show the total percentage if a person does the quiz. (1) 
    4. Use a function to say 'Congratulations' if the person gets 100%, 'Do better next time' if the get 50% and 'Bad luck' if the person gets 0%. (2) 
  5. Properties [2]
    1. Make sure your name is shown as author of this file. (1) 
    2. Add the words May 2005 in the title of the document. (1)

Question 4 - Integration - 3 marks

  1. Create labels using the data from the spreadsheet Movies sheet General Movies:

    1. for the spines of the video boxes (there is a specific type) (1)
    2. showing the Title, Rating, Date, Performer and Genre (1
    3. only for movies after 1999 (1)
    4. Save the labels as YourSurnameLabels.
