Question 1 - Graphics package - 2 marks

  1. Using a graphics package such as Paint or PaintShopPro open the ugly picture of Michelle Pheiffer. 
  2. Make her lips a bright different colour. 
  3. Save the picture for later use. [2] 

Question 2 - Word processing - 25 marks

Open the document Biographies and save it as YourSurnameInitials_Biographies

  1. Insert page numbers, on all pages except page 1. [2] 
  2. Insert a header from page 2, with the words ‘Biographies’. Put a border around the header and shade the whole block. [2] 
  3. Insert a footer, on page 1, with the fields of the author’s name (yourself), file name and number of words. [4] 
  4. Make all the text in the whole document Arial. Check header, footer and page numbers. [2] 
  5. Insert the nice picture of Sandra Bullock with text wrapped around it, into the article about her. [2] 
  6. Insert the nice picture of Mel Gibson behind the article on him, as a watermark. [2] 
  7. Make a table of the Salary of Sandra Bullock. 
    1. Three columns: Title, Year and Income [1] 
    2. Number of rows – You decide – it must be correct 
    3. Column headings – Shaded, centred [2] 
    4. Columns – Just wide enough [1] 
    5. Text – Aligned correctly  [2] 
    6. Insert a merged row at the top of the table with the heading Salary of Sandra Bullock. [1] 
  8. Mini Biography of Sandra Bullock 
    1. Shade the paragraph in the colour peachy pink. [1] 
  9. List of trivia about Sandra Bullock 
    1. Bullet the list with an unusual bullet. [2] 
  10. Mini Biography of Mel Gibson 
    1. Give the paragraph a border. [1] 

Question 3 - Spreadsheet - 8 marks

Open the spreadsheet Stars and save it as YourSurnameInitials_Stars

  1. Sort the names so that they are listed alphabetically by surname. [1] 
  2. Pretend that the people whose names are in the spreadsheet attend a school called Movie Stars High School. In the spreadsheet create email addresses for all of them. You decide what the domain name should be. [4] 
  3. Make the spreadsheet easily readable by making the column headings stand out. [1] 
  4. Freeze the column headings so that it is easy to quickly scroll down. [1] 
  5. Add your name to the footer so that when it is printed your name identifies the document. [1] 

Question 4 - Database - 12 marks

Open Access.  Query the database Videos. Answer the questions on this sheet. 
  1. Movies with Details table 
    1. How many records are in the table? [1] 
    2. What is the title of the longest movie? [1] 
    3. Which film won the most Oscars? [1] 
    4. How many movies had no Actor 1s? [1] 
    5. How many animated movies are in the table? [1] 
  2. General Movies table 
    1. How many records are in the General Movie table? [1] 
    2. How many R rated movies are in the table? [1] 
    3. How many movies with the letters 'man' anywhere in their title, are in the table? [1] 
    4. How many PG-13 Dramas are there? [2] 
    5. Which performer has the most PG-13 movies? [2] 

Question 5 - Presentation - 25 marks

Open the PowerPoint slide show Movie Cartoons and save it as YourSurnameInitials_Movie Cartoons

  1. The PowerPoint show must be set in the correct order. Move slide 5 to be in position number 4. [1] 
  2. Apply a dark pink colour as background to all the slides. [1] 
  3. Now apply a light pink colour as background to slide 1 and only slide 1. [1] 
  4. Insert a new slide (Type: Title Slide), between slide 1 and slide 2. [2] 
  5. On the 2nd slide you just created:
    1. Type the following text as the title: ‘Interesting Portraits’. [1] 
    2. Now type beneath the title in the same text box, in text size 24, the following text: ‘Click on the person you would like to see’. [1] 
    3. In the subtitle textbox ...
      1. Add the four names of the people whose artistic pictures are on display. 
      2. These names must be underneath each other. [1] 
      3. Each name must have a small square bullet. [1] 
      4. Ensure that all the bullets are in line on the left hand side. [1] 
      5. The colour of each bullet must be blue. [1] 
      6. Hyperlink each name to its respective picture/slide. The hyperlink must be the name itself. [3] 
      7. Add a screen tip to the hyperlink of Leonardo Di Caprio with the following text: 'Note the dummy'. [1] 
  6. Add text to the slide of Al Pacino: 'Famous for his role in the movies with the Italian Mafia - Capish'. [1] 
  7. Add text to the slide of Antonio Banderas: 'The burly self-defence expert, often playing roles in military movies'. [1] 
  8. Add text to the slide of Clint Eastwood: 'Go ahead, make my day'. [1] 
  9. On the slide of baby face Leonardo Di Caprio, you may add your own unusual text. [1] 
  10. On the last slide ...
    1. Add as title the following text: 'Our Lady Actors'.
    2. On the last slide add the ugly pictures of Sandra Bullock and Michelle Pheiffer. Their pictures should occupy most of the slide.
    3. Include a note: 'These are two of the best lady actors in the world'. [1] 
    4. Animation for all objects are to be inserted on this slide. [4] 
  11. Use different slide transitions, per slide, for this slide show. [1]
