Answer the questions on the paper.   

During the exam time make sure that PM sees and notes that you can do the following:

  1. Arrange your screen shortcuts by date.

  2. Change the mouse from being a right-hand mouse to a left-hand mouse. (Prevented from doing this on the system at PHS.)

  3. Change the clock settings to analogue. (Prevented from doing this on the system at PHS.)

  4. Create a shortcut on your desktop for a program in the Naughty Programs folder.

  5. Add a screen saver that starts to operate after 1 minute.

  6. Add a picture of the PHS badge to your desktop.

  In the Shared drive / CSSG folder what file (not in any folders)

  1. was modified on 17 March 2001?  

  2. contains the text 'Data entry personnel key in data from source documents'?  

  3. is 125 KB in size?  

  4. is a sound file?

  5. is a video file?

  1. What operating system is running on your computer?

  2. Which edition or version of Norton AntiVirus does your computer have?

  3. How many zipped files are in the Shared drive / CSSG folder?

  4. What are the screen settings of your monitor?  (Prevented from doing this on the system at PHS.)

  5. How much RAM does your computer have?

  6. Using the calculator, work out 8432 divided by 16 plus 9 multiplied by 4.  Do it in the order given.  What is the answer?

  7. What is the path to the executable (shortcut - target) of the Acrobat Reader 4.0 icon found on your desktop?

  8. What is the difference, in hours, between GMT and South African time? (Prevented from doing this on the system at PHS.)

  9. Take a new stiffie disk from PM.  Copy the picture samap.gif from the Shared drive / Pictures folder to the disk.  How much space is now available on the stiffie disk?
