Question 6 - Business Skills Module - 20 marks

  1. A tennis club's secretary treasurer wishes to create a database of the members of the club including their personal details and membership fees. Each member has a unique membership number. There are 50 members of the club.

    Note these facts and answer the following questions:

    3. Name a primary key field found in this database. [1]
    4. Which function of the word processor can be used to personally invite every club member to the annual dance? [1]

  2. In a certain database there are amongst others, two fields: a field "YYYY" for the year in which children were born. This field is defined as an integer with a length of 4. a field SMALLPOX which indicates if a learner has been vaccinated against smallpox. It is defined as Boolean (Yes/No).

  2. The postmaster at Pinelands High School received a request from letskeepitprivate@ih2000.net to put information on the Pinelands High School Past Pupils' web page recently. She complied with the request. The information between brackets is the information on the Pinelands High School web page a few days later.

    (The 1951 graduating class are organising a class union on October 2, 1999. They will take part in the activities of Pineland Day, then class members will gather at the Catfish Cabin in Jasper for dinner that evening. Helen Rake Class of '51 is the contact person.

    Oh dear. I have made a huge mistake. I received an email letter from Helen. I checked the dates and it did not sound correct but I put up the information as requested. It took a day to register. The message was aimed at Pineland High School in the USA! - Oops, Sorry - Pam Miller, PHS Postmaster)

    Answer the following questions:
