Queries - Calculations on records in a query
The Totals button can be used to many calculations. It can Sum (which means add), Avg (Average), Min (Minimum), etc.

Note the criteria in the query and its results. The Totals button has not been selected. The records are sorted in the order in which they were entered, that is why it is not in ascending alphabetical order.
