Data access pages - Create
a data access page by using a wizard
- Before starting to create a data access page, decide where your work should be saved on
the server, so that it can be accessed by the people who need to access it. Create a
folder and put your database in the folder.
- Open the required database. To create an data access page, in the Access 2000
database window, click Pages under Objects.

- Click the New button on the database window toolbar.
- In the New Data Access Page dialog box, click Page Wizard.
- Click the name of the table, query, or view that includes the data that you want to base
your data access page on.
Note You don't need to do this step
now you can specify the record sources for the page in the wizard.
- Click OK.
- Follow the directions in the wizard dialog boxes.
- If the resulting page doesn't look the way you want, you can modify the page in Design
view.
Note When you create a page by using a wizard, Access automatically saves the page as
an HTML file in the current folder and adds a shortcut to the page in the database window.
Place the mouse pointer over the shortcut in the database window to display the path to
the file.
This tip sheet includes elementary information on data access pages. Use the
Help menu in Access 2000 to look for additional information under 'Data access page'.
